Our story

Laarish was started by parents, designers and educators who were frustrated that schools teach knowledge but not skills. We set out to make childhood about doing, not memorising, so that a child who discovers what they love early becomes an adult who builds the world deliberately.

Why Laarish exists

At home, parents piece learning together on their own: the curriculum, the tools, the projects, the mentors, the record of what their child can actually do. In schools the labs and the kits exist, but they sit apart from the classroom. Everything is available separately. Nothing works together.

So we built one system instead of one more piece: physical products a child can hold, phygital books that keep the child’s own thinking, and an app that keeps the continuity. One curriculum that grows with the learner, from a toddler’s first busy board to a young founder’s first venture.

What we believe

  • Curiosity before tests. A question a child owns is worth more than an answer they were given.
  • Learning by making. A completed model is not proof of understanding. Explaining it is.
  • Empathy with intellect. Every programme ends with something a mentor can look at and discuss.
  • Parents as partners. For young children the app guides the parent, not the child.
  • Physical first, digitally enhanced. Never the other way round.

How it started

Bengaluru, Karnataka. Laarish Experiential Toys LLP, incorporated in June 2025 and a DPIIT-recognised startup.

Inspired by three children, guided by experienced mentors, built by a multidisciplinary team of makers, teachers and engineers.

Incubated at IISc D-CoE, Bengaluru. Winner, Karnataka ELEVATE 2025 (Government of Karnataka).
